Every badge is a document.
A listing does not go live until a reviewer has looked at the paperwork behind each claim. Here is what we ask for, what the badge means, and where the limits are.
What each badge means
Licensed
Checked: A state or local trade license number, the issuing state, and the license document. Numbers are recorded on the listing so you can verify them yourself with the issuing board.
Expiry: Expires on the date printed on the license. The badge drops off the listing when the expiry date passes until a renewal is uploaded.
Insured
Checked: A certificate of insurance naming the business, the carrier, coverage limits, and the policy period.
Expiry: Expires with the policy period on the certificate. The badge drops off when the COI lapses.
Bonded
Checked: Evidence of a surety bond held by the business.
Expiry: Tied to the bond term on the submitted evidence.
Background Check
Checked: The name of the screening provider and the date the check was completed, as supplied by the member.
Expiry: Shown with its completion date so you can judge how current it is.
Accredited / VA-Approved Program
Checked: For schools: accreditation body and, where claimed, GI Bill or VR&E program approval.
Expiry: Re-checked at membership renewal.
The review
Applications are reviewed by a person, not a script. A reviewer compares each uploaded document against the claims on the listing. Anything that does not line up comes back as a request for more information before approval.
Reviews
Ratings come from homeowners. A review marked verified is tied to a project request that actually went through the platform to that business. Members cannot delete a review on their own listing.
The limits
Verification confirms a document existed and matched on the date it was reviewed. It is not a guarantee of workmanship, price, safety, or outcome, and it does not make Plumbb Builders a party to your project. Always confirm a license with the issuing state board before you sign anything.
Something wrong with a listing?
If a badge, license number, or claim on a listing looks inaccurate, tell us and we will re-review it. Listings that fail re-review are suspended.
